    January marked the release of a new sub-section of the Crown Coach Corporation section called 100 Years of Service.  A new factory photograph for the February 2004 Update has been added.

    www.gilligbus.com was also updated for February 2004 with seven new photos, six of which being interior photos, in the School District Gilligs section.

  • January 2004 Update

    Crown Coach Incorporated may have gone out of business in March of 1991, but the history and legacy that was left behind by Crown Coach Corporation lives on.

    It has been one-hundred years since Don M. Brockway founded Crown Carriage Company in central Los Angeles in 1904.  Because 2004 marks a century for Crown, this is a very special update.

    Starting with January, for each month in the year 2004, a rare Crown Coach Corporation factory photograph will be released in a new sub-section of the Crown Coach Corporation section called 100 Years of Service.

    On a more personal note, I am especially delighted that I have this opportunity to share some unqiue photographs in celebration of one century of Crown.  When I first started this website in 1999, I never thought this far ahead.  I am glad it has been this long, though, and that I am still able to provide this information for those who are interested.

    Celebrating 21 years of being a bus nut!

    My birthday was on June 02, 2003.  To celebrate my twenty-first birthday, I have included four photos from my "home" school district of Saddleback Valley Unified School District in Mission Viejo, California, in the June 2003 update.  All of the photos are of buses I rode on.

    The photos of the Saddleback Valley Unified School District Crowns are some of the very first school bus photos that I took nearly five years ago.  They are also some of the very first photos that appeared on crownbus.com when it debuted in May 1999.

  • March 2003 Update

    The only update this month was the addition of a photo of "The Silver Slug" to the Owners section.

  • February 2003 Update

    Three interior photos were added to the Certified Transportation section, and two interior photos were added the Rowland Unified School District section.

    The Links section was updated and organized.

    Crown fans, don't forget about the crownbus.com Online Forum.  We have new members — including the owner of tandem axle Crown school coach # 1, a 1955 Crown Supercoach that first served Victor Valley Union High School District as # 27 and later served as a Laidlaw bus.  Be sure to stop in sometime and introduce yourself.

    A new subsection was added to the Crown Coach Corporation History section.  It contains photos of examples of the different types of fire apparatus manufactured by Crown Coach Corporation between 1951 and 1985.

    Three interior photos were added to the Morgan Hill Unified School District section.

  • November 2002 Update

    This month's update is a little late, and I apologize for that.  I'm going to try something new here — I'm bringing back the interior photos.  I haven't featured interior photos for over a year now, and I think it's time to bring them back.  So, rather than adding more exterior shots, this month's update consists of all interior photos.

    Seven interior photos were added to the Certified Transportation section.  More interior photos will follow in future updates.

  • September 2002 Update

    crownbus.com has, once again, been given facelift to keep up with the times.  New features include the use of Java Script to showcase the photographs — which have all been re-scanned for better clarity — and an overall new look.

    * Currently, there may still be some features that are not available and some items that may not be working.  However, within the next week (August 26-September 1), everything that isn't working correctly will be fixed.

    Other mentionable updates include brand new photographs and the planned inclusion of interior photographs in future updates.
